With a rich cultural heritage of more than 120 tribes and an abundance of wildlife living in their natural habitats, Tanzania today is reputed as the last frontier of the enchanting Africa of the past century. Comfortable moderm amenities however make present time exploration delightful. Tanzania is situated just south of the equator bordering the Indian Ocean for a stretch of 939,701 km.sq.(which embraces the Islands of Zanzibar & Mafia). It is the largest country in the East Africa. The main physical features vary from Coastal plains (0m above the sea level) to rift valleys, Miombo woodlands, southern highlands and mountains (5895m above sea level). Temperatures vary from 15 degrees in the highlands area to 30 degrees along the coast. Cool between May and October. Rains occur between November and May.
