7 km from Arusha, the starting point for most northern Tanzania
safaris, in the direction of Kilimanjaro International Airport.
The lodge makes ample use of palm leaf thatching for the roofs
giving a tropical feel to the whole place. Well kept gardens, old
coffee shade trees and a coffee plantations setting add to the
exotic feel.

Mountain Village Located
on a working coffee plantation at the foot of Mount Meru, just
eight miles outside Arusha town, it's approximately 30 minutes
from Kilimanjaro Airport. Accommodation is in forty two
comfortably furnished and individually styled rondavel huts
overlooking Lake Duluti. The whole area is a haven for bird life
and the lodge can organise walks around the lake and the coffee
plantations. There is a pool, a large central restaurant serving
good food and the bars an ideal place to discuss the safari or
climbing experiences. Probably the best place in this area and
newly refurbished.

Crater Lodge is
perched on the edge of the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater at the
eastern edge of the Serengeti in northern Tanzania. It lies within
the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which covers more than 8 000
square kilometres (3 100 square miles) of pristine African
wilderness. Inspired in design by the Maasai mud-and-stick
manyatta (homestead), Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is without doubt one
of the most architecturally spectacular safari lodges in Africa.
Nearly three million years old, the ancient caldera of the
once-volcanic Ngorongoro shelters one of the most beautiful
wildlife havens on earth, ringed with towering walls and
sheltering forests, grasslands, fresh springs and a large soda
lake. Nearby Olduvai Gorge – a famous early archaeological site
– is situated to the west of the Crater in the eastern Serengeti
Plains. In the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, 42 000 Maasai live
and herd their livestock in harmony with Africa’s wild animals.

built into the rim of the caldera, the plant and ivy-covered
native stone blending masterfully with its surroundings. The lodge
has guest rooms that are spacious with central heating,
prehistoric cave paintings and balconies overlooking the
Ngorongoro Crater. The furniture is created from rich hardwood
timber. The lounge and dining room are indoors, overlooking the
Crater. Log fires greatly enhance the atmosphere, especially in
the evenings. The lounge has a balcony with a fixed telescope for
guests' use.

private verandah which offers stunning views over the plains.

Ideally located in the heart of the Serengeti plains on the edge
of the Seronera River, this is the perfect starting point for
exploring the area. The lodge is built on a kopje with excellent
views. There are seventy five very simple yet comfortable rooms.
Don't come here if you're looking for excellent service and
luxurious rooms, though the staff are very friendly and rooms
clean. Use the lodge for its great location - especially during
the months of the migration. There is also a spacious restaurant
and very pleasant bar, that overlooks the plains.

The Mbalageti
Serengeti is located in the Western
corridor of the Serengeti National Park, at the
Mwamyeni hill. The luxurous lodge consists of 26
luxury tented chalets and exclusive tented suites
spread out to ensure privacy and exclusivity. Sunset or sunrise,
each side of the hill accommodates 12 of the 24 luxury tented
chalets. Each has full en-suite bathroom and a private veranda
from which you can enjoy the panoramic views of the Serengeti
plains and the Mbalageti River - after which the camp is named.
GRUMETI RIVER CAMP

River Camp is
situated in a remote valley in the western corridor of the
Serengeti National Park, just 50 kilometres (31 miles) east of
Lake Victoria – Africa’s largest lake. Flanked by two
hillsides, this flamboyant camp overlooks a bywater of the Grumeti
River and offers a comfortable haven from which to experience the
truly wild pulse of Africa.
Every year during Africa’s annual Great Migration, hundreds of
thousands of wildebeest, zebra and other herbivores cross the
Grumeti River, risking the jaws of some of the largest crocodiles
on earth. Large pods of hippo grunt from their watery hideaway
below the camp and black-and-white Colobus monkeys live in
Grumeti’s bird-filled riverine trees. At night, the nocturnal
orchestra of owls and bush babies is punctuated by the primeval
sounds of lion and hyena.

situated on a hilltop that overlooks the vast plains of the
Western Serengeti. The building style and furniture have been
styled on the Victorian era and the open-sided architecture of the
public areas keeps the guests constantly in touch with nature. The
dining room, lounge and bar are situated in a large tent with
raised wood flooring. Accommodation comprises of 25 tents that all
have a sweeping view of the Serengeti plains, an en suite bathroom
with shower only facilities and a private balcony. The tents are
also equipped with a dressing table and writing table, a wardrobe,
shaver outlet and mirror, his and hers bathroom vanities, a small
table and chairs on the viewing deck and hammocks on request.

Serengeti comes from the Maasai word 'siringet' meaning 'endless
plain' and at Migration Camp one experiences the vastness of the
sweeping plains. The Serengeti migration masses around the site
for several months en route to the southern plains with excellent

The camp is uniquely set in the northern central Serengeti,

locally, which are geological features of the Serengeti, Mbuzi
Mawe tented camp is in the heart of the Serengeti National Park,
half way between Seronera and Lobo, in a low use area of the park.
The camp consists of 16 uniquely appointed luxury guest tents each
with their own en suite facilities and private veranda. Tents are
decorated in a true African luxury style with mosquito nets and
four poster beds and his and hers bathrooms. Activities at Mbuzi
Mawe include daily game drives where, with the aid of your guide,
you will have the opportunity to experience and appreciate first

Bay Lodge Located
on the south-eastern shore of Lake Victoria, the lodge is around
15kms from the Serengeti, and 125kms north of Mwanza. Embraced by
savannah, the lodge looks like a small village, stretched out
along the shores of the lake. The main buildings and eight
bungalows are well built, painted white and thatched in the
traditional style. Food, service and atmosphere are all excellent.
Excursions in boats and on mountain bikes are offered, so you can
truly experience Africa. You can also fish from the beach for
Tilapia, go out in a boat to catch Nile perch, or wander around on
the Lodge's 100 hectares of savannah looking for birds
